Just another way of humans fixing their pets to suit them. They forgot what suits their pet. They disregarded their pets needs. Declawing is animal torture. It would be the same as humans having their nails pulled out. Why is it done? So some curtains won’t be torn. Buy a clawing post, problem solved. If it wasn’t for We Went Blues Shirt declawing, I wouldn’t be able to keep my Siamese cats. Our vet was very humane with the procedure and the aftercare including painkillers.
We Went Blues Shirt is available in all styles
The cats healed well. It is frowned upon by most vets here and has fallen out of favor. But the reasoning is the cats never go outside. But that now excuses removing a cat’s defense mechanism. Never have I ever or will ever declaw a cat. Being a cat owner is taking responsibility for the wellbeing of the cat. If a cat destroying furniture (or your body) is too much to handle, maybe a cat isn’t the right pet for you. Because they ruin everything with their claws.

So much money spent on replacing items and furniture vs $250 for front declaw and no more damage. First world problems, I know. And they don’t have any “health issues” from it, as people will claim that they have a “lifetime” of health issues To declaw a cat is to de-cat it. If you don’t want scratched furniture (and people occasionally) don’t get a cat. Do dog-lovers pull out their teeth because they could gnaw furniture (and people)?
Put up a scratch-post or two, gently direct the cat to where it is allowed to scratch, but accept that marking territory and climbing are normal behaviors, and don’t play too rough if you don’t want to bleed! I have an 86 year old neighbor who declawed her cat because she has severe bleeding issues. She We Went Blues Shirt has to go to the hospital for the most insignificant things we’d take for granted because nothing ever stops bleeding on its own. I think it’s cruel personally.
